LeadSnap ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that helps freelancers capture and manage leads from websites. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
Key Point: All your data is stored locally on your device. We never collect, transmit, or have access to your leads or any personal information.
Data Collection and Storage
What Data We Store
The Extension stores the following information that you choose to save:
- Lead names
- Email addresses
- Phone numbers
- Company names
- LinkedIn profile URLs
- Website URLs
- Notes you add
- Tags you assign
- Lead status (New, Contacted, Proposal, Won, Lost)
- Source URLs (the webpage where you captured the lead)
How Data is Stored
All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local). Your lead data:
- Never leaves your browser
- Is not sent to any external servers
- Is not shared with any third parties
- Is not accessible to us or anyone else
Data You Control
You have complete control over your data:
- View all stored leads in the Extension popup
- Edit or delete individual leads at any time
- Export your data as CSV or JSON files
- Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data
Permissions We Request
The Extension requests the following permissions:
- storage: To save your leads locally in Chrome's storage
- contextMenus: To add "Add to LeadSnap" option when you right-click selected text
- activeTab: To read selected text and page URL when you capture a lead
Data Sharing
We do NOT:
- Collect any analytics or usage data
- Send any data to external servers
- Share your data with third parties
- Track your browsing activity
- Access any data other than what you explicitly choose to capture
Third-Party Services
The free version of LeadSnap does not use any third-party services.
The Pro version uses Stripe for payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data: stripe.com/privacy
Children's Privacy
LeadSnap is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other privacy laws. Since all data is stored locally on your device and we have no access to it, you can exercise all data rights directly through the Extension's interface.
