QuickCurrency ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that helps you convert currencies quickly with real-time exchange rates. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
Key Point: All your preferences and conversion history are stored locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to your personal information.

What Data We Store
The Extension stores the following information locally on your device:
- Your preferred currencies (from/to)
- Recent currency selections
- Conversion history
- App settings
How Data is Stored
All user data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local). Your data:
- Never leaves your browser
- Is not sent to any external servers (except for exchange rates)
- Is not shared with any third parties
- Is not accessible to us or anyone else
Exchange Rate Data
To provide currency conversion, the Extension fetches exchange rate data from a public API:
- We use the fawazahmed0/exchange-api - a free, open-source currency API
- Only exchange rate data is fetched - no personal information is sent
- The API does not track users or collect any data
Data You Control
You have complete control over your data:
- View your conversion history in the Extension
- Clear history at any time
- Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data
Permissions We Request
The Extension requests the following permissions:
- storage: To save your preferences and conversion history locally
We request minimal permissions to ensure your privacy and security.
Data Sharing
We do NOT:
- Collect any analytics or usage data
- Send any personal data to external servers
- Share your data with third parties
- Track your browsing activity
- Access any websites you visit
Third-Party Services
Currency Exchange Rates
The Extension uses a public currency exchange rate API to fetch current rates. This API:
- Is open-source and free
- Does not require authentication
- Does not collect user data
- Only provides exchange rate information
Payment Processing (Pro Features)
For optional Pro features, we use ExtensionPay to process payments:
- ExtensionPay handles all payment processing securely
- We do not store or have access to your payment information
- ExtensionPay only shares your payment status (paid/unpaid) with the extension

Children's Privacy
QuickCurrency is suitable for users of all ages. We do not collect any personal data from any users, including children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

Since all data is stored locally on your device and we have no access to it, you can exercise all data rights directly through the Extension's interface or by uninstalling the extension.
